Black and White Study One

This semester I have been taking a painting class, and so far it looks like all we are going to be doing is oils. Quite frankly, I have never done an oil painting before this point. This was my first study, and I guess it turned out okay.....not the best, but not the worst. It was more of a battle with the paint and my brush; they didn't seem to do what I wanted. Then again, I forgot to buy linseed oil, so the paint was rather thick and sticky. XD I guess I learned after that...sort of. You'll notice that there are some strange lines in areas. That would be where the scanner picked up the shadow from the ridge of thick paint. (another oops XD)

Yes, I also realize I didn't sign this painting. The same goes with the rest of my little studies...once I get those posted. (I have been slacking on putting them up.) If I make a bigger picture that wasn't meant to be a study, maybe I will sign that. : P
